What Can Help With Natural Lash Growth?Lashify

On a quest for longer lashes? We hear you. Most of us would love the look of longer lashes. If you don’t need longer lashes, what’s it like to be the most favored person in the universe?

The standard lash lengthening methods are always available, but while you’re extending and plumping and curling and mascara-ing, you want to simultaneously use products that will help your natural lashes, however sparse, grow.

We’ve got you covered. At Lashify, lashes are what we do. We give you the ability to build great lashes at home, but we also create our products so they naturally support your lash growth.

We’ll explain how lashes grow and what you can do to help them get longer.

Lash Growth Cycle

Your natural eyelashes grow in four cycles, similar to the hair growth on the top of your head. These stages of hair growth are the anagen phase, catagen phase, telogen phase, and exogen phase.

Anagen Phase

The anagen phase is the growth phase. This is when your eyelash hairs extend through the hair follicle and reach their full length, which, if you’re reading this, is probably less than you consider optimal.

Catagen Phase

This is also known as the degradation phase. This is the phase of eyelash un-growth when the lash has reached its full length and is undergoing physiological processes that effectively “turn off” the growth.

Telogen Phase

It’s known as the resting phase, but the only thing resting is your patience. During this stage, your lashes will have stopped growing and are essentially hanging out until they fall out.

Exogen Phase

Don’t call it a phase; call it a millisecond event because that’s what it is. The exogen phase refers to the time when an individual eyelash falls out. Thankfully, it’s pushed out by another lash just entering the anagen phase.

The total transit time between the anagen and exogen phases can vary from person to person but is somewhere between four and 11 months. A lash will only stay in the anagen phase for about four and 10 weeks. If you want lashes to grow longer, you need ways to keep them thriving in the anagen phase.

Natural Ways To Help Lashes Grow

Now let’s be clear: there are a lot of factors that affect eyelash growth. Genetics, your own habits, and the products you use on your lashes can all affect how fast your lashes grow and how thick they become.

While some products can help support healthy lash growth, there are very few products that can actually make them grow longer than they are genetically predetermined to grow. Before we start, let’s check off the no-no list and make sure you aren’t self-sabotaging with a bad lash habit.

Lash No No’s

If you want maximum eyelash health and growth, stay away from these lash-destroying products and habits.

  • Using expired makeup
  • Wearing waterproof mascara daily
  • Not removing your eye makeup before bed
  • Pulling or tugging on your lashes to remove eye makeup
  • Using eyelash curlers that don’t have protected edges

The list is small, but it’s important. Avoid these pitfalls to make sure your lashes even stand a chance of growing as long as possible.

Lash Boosting Products

Your natural lashes are sparse; these products give them the support they need to thrive. Here’s our top # list of lash-loving ways to grow your natural fringe.

1. Oil

Castor oil, coconut oil (probably not canola oil), and olive oil are all loaded with nutrients that can support healthy hair growth. Using a cotton swab, you can apply a small amount of oil to the base of your upper lash line to keep your lashes lubed up with nourishing ingredients.

You can also use a clean mascara spoolie to apply oil directly to your lashes. This will keep them hydrated and help you avoid losing brittle lashes. Be careful when you use oil to moisturize your lashes; the oil is slick and may get in your eyes, which can be really uncomfortable.

2. Eyelash Growth Serum

Everyone has one they claim is amazing, but research says only a few of them actually work. Pay close attention to the marketing of the package. Some packages may say they support lash growth, which is probably true, but it doesn’t say your lashes will look any longer.

The FDA approves only one drug for lash-lengthening, bimatoprost ophthalmic solution, which is usually sold under the name Latisse. This drug works by keeping your lashes in the anagen phase longer.

Longer time in the anagen phase, longer period of growth. Bimatoprost isn’t without side effects, though. Some of the more common are the darkening of the skin around the lash line and the development of dark spots on the eyes.

3. Peptides

Peptides are chains of amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Protein is what makes up keratin, which is what makes your (you guessed it) eyelashes. It makes sense, then, that using a peptide serum or a mascara with peptides would help support lash growth, and that’s exactly what it does when you use one.

4. Biotin

Biotin is the OG natural hair growth compound. It’s a B vitamin and supports healthy hair growth and hair follicles. A biotin deficiency is usually associated with hair loss, which is why many people automatically take biotin if they feel their hair is thinning.

At Lashify, we add biotin to our Bonds, so instead of damaging your lashes, our Bonds actually support lash growth, helping you maintain your natural lashes while you’re sporting your DIY lashes.

5. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a favorite natural beauty product because it’s a natural antioxidant. Cells that make up everything in your body (including the ones responsible for creating new eyelashes) can become damaged by free radicals.

Free radicals come from sources like UV rays, cigarette smoke, and pollution. Protection against them requires antioxidants. Using vitamin E oil on your lashes can help protect them from free radicals and is also hydrating to your lashes.

While You’re Waiting

Lash growth doesn’t happen overnight, and while you’re waiting for your lashes to grow, you can use eyelash extensions to get the longer, thicker lashes you want. Lashify makes it easy to get great, long lashes at home without spending a lot of time and money at a lash salon.

The Lashify System

Our system of Gossamer® lashes and ultra-safe Bonds helps protect your natural lashes and nourish them, so while you’re wearing your Gossamer lashes, you’re actually helping support longer eyelashes naturally.

In fact, many of our customers have reported better natural eyelash health since switching to the Lashify system from salon lashes.

Getting Started

The best part about Lashify is that it’s really easy to learn how to apply your Gossamer lashes like a professional. Once you get the hang of it (and we’ve got plenty of tutorials to help), you can get amazing looks in just minutes and change them whenever you want. It all begins when you grab our Control Kit®.

The Lashify Control Kit: What’s Inside

We make it incredibly easy and convenient to get started. Our customizable Control Kit contains everything you need to be successful the very first time you apply your Gossamers.

Every customizable Control Kit includes:

  • Two sets of Gossamer® Lashes. Want a lowkey set of lashes for your 9 to 5 and a glam, plushy fringe for post-work hours? That’s not a problem. You get two sets in your kit.
  • Fuse Control® Wand in Classic or Petit Curve. Applying your Gossamers is easy when you use the tool we developed exclusively for applying them. If you have smaller or monolid eyes, we recommend the Petit Eye Fuse Control® Wand, which is smaller and designed for these types of eyes.
  • Glass Finishing Coat. You don’t have to seal your Gossamers, but if you do, Glass will help keep them looking fresh and give them an added layer of protection. This waterproof finishing coat is also good for amping up your Gossamers’ staying power after a few days of wear.
  • Whisper Light Bond™. All of our bonds double as eyelash support supplements, and our Whisper Light is the most popular. It’s a dual-sided Bond that features Micro-Flex™ technology, helping your Gossamer lashes move with your natural lashes to avoid breakage.
  • Hard storage case. The cutest hard case with plenty of room for supplies and a mirror to help you apply your Gossamers on the go.
  • Wandom ®. Protect your tool! Your Fuse Control Wand tool, that is. Wandoms cover the tips of your Fuse Control Wand to help you avoid getting stuck between a Gossamer and a natural lash.
  • Pre Cleanse and Melt Away. We include these samples of our favorite products to prep your lashes and easily take off your Gossamers. Pre Cleanse can even double as a face wash.

Your lash stash just got bigger, and your natural lashes will love the lash growth serum effects of our Bonds. It’s a double win for lashes everywhere.
