GripTex: How We Are Creating Longer-Lasting Lashes
Lashes that come unattached as soon as they’re applied are a complete waste of everyone’s time. Not only will you be frustrated you took the time to apply them, but you’ll also be in need of another lash enhancement ASAP.
The Lashify™ DIY Lash Extension™ System already revolutionized the way we do at-home lashes. Now, we’re revolutionizing how long they’ll last.
If you’re already a Lashify Lash Pro, you know that our Gossamer® lashes are designed to last up to 10 days with proper care. With Griptex Technology™, you can expect your Gossamer lashes to truly go the distance.
We’ll tell you everything you need to know about what GripTex is, which Gossamer lashes contain it, and how to get started with the Lashify system if you aren’t already a Lashify insider.
What Is GripTex?
GripTex is our patent-pending, flat, flexible spine base that is textured with ridges to make the Gossamers more comfortable to wear and give them additional sticking power. GripTex is currently available on Extreme2 Black Gossamer Lashes.
These lashes are already highly voluminous and offer one of our strongest curls, so you’ll get a high level of volume, length, and drama with your application.
Unlike the usual Spine of Gossamer lashes, which is flat and even, the GripTex spine has notches cut into the edge, which help it adhere better to your individual lashes for a better grip that helps your lashes last.
How To Apply: Tips and Tricks
Applying E2 Gossamer lashes is easy once you understand how they work. Because these lashes are made with Extreme Gossamer lashes, the curl is intense. If you have particularly short, straight lashes, we recommend curling your lashes before you begin.
This will help give you the best results.
- Lashicurl®. Our heated silicone eyelash curler is the safest and easiest way to curl your lashes without damaging them. Let it heat up for about 15 seconds, and gently lift your lashes without clamping or crimping them.
- Apply your favorite Bond like you normally would. Remember, Lashify Bonds don’t contain any harsh chemical ingredients like formaldehyde or cyanoacrylates, which can cause your lashes to harden and become brittle. Bonds contain biotin and lavender to help support natural lash growth while you wear your Gossamer lashes.
- To apply the E2 Gossamer lash, you’ll want to grip the Gossamer with your Fuse Control Wand® and “scoop” under your natural lash line until the Spine base of the Gossamer hits your natural lash. When you’ve hit your natural lash, gently press the Gossamer in before Fusing.
- Fuse your lashes as you normally would, using either the Full Fuse or Reverse Fuse, whichever is most comfortable and practical for you.
E2 Gossamer lashes are designed to be overlapped, but be sure you add additional Bond if you try this technique. As always, we recommend leaving a few natural lash hairs free on the inner and outer corners of your eyes to make your lashes even more comfortable.
While most Gossamer lashes are designed to be applied within about 1-2 mm of your natural water line, E2 Gossamer lash may be applied slightly closer due to the textured, flat Spine base. This base allows E2 Gossamer lashes to interlock with your natural lashes for long-lasting, comfortable wear, even if you apply them closer to your water line.
Once you’re done, you’ll have an incredible, Russian volume look that rivals any salon lash tech application.
How To Remove GripTex
Removing your E2 Gossamer lashes is simple. Even though the added grip helps them last as long as possible, the material doesn’t take additional effort to take off of your natural lashes.
When you’re ready to remove your E2 Gossamer lashes, you can use Melt Away, our dual-phase, oil-based makeup remover that is specifically designed to help you slide your Gossamer lashes off of your natural lashes without pulling or tugging.
If you don’t have Melt Away, you can use another dual-phase, oil-based remover, but remember to “soak” your lashes with a remover-infused cotton round for about a minute before trying to remove them.
How Long Can I Wear E2 Gossamer Lashes?
The possibilities are endless! Gossamer lashes are designed to go the distance, and with E2 Gossamer lashes, you could get longer-lasting wear than you’ve experienced with other Gossamer lashes.
Proper care involves understanding aftercare techniques, like protecting your Gossamer lashes from water for at least 48 hours and making sure you avoid makeup interference (like eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. If you’re a first-timer, we recommend not sleeping in your Gossamer lashes until you’ve applied them a few times.
If you get a loose Gossamer, you can easily Bond it back into place. We’ve got tons of tutorials and tips to help you overcome any lash obstacle you might have.
Not a Lashify DIY Diva yet? What are you waiting for? All you need to get started is a little control.
The Control Kit™
The Lashify Control Kit is your solution for getting the lashes you love without spending all your time and money at the lash salon. With one easy-to-maintain kit, you get the tools you need for application, along with two customized sets of Gossamer lashes to start your very own lash wardrobe.
Each Control Kit comes to your door with:
Two Sets of Gossamer Lashes
Whether it’s mega volume you want or high-profile colored lashes, there’s a Gossamer for you. Choose from Bold, Amplify, or Curl to get the lashes that best match your needs.
Remember that Gossamer lashes can be combined to create new, fully customizable lash looks. You can also try our Lash Maps, which help you learn how to create lash looks easily.
Fuse Control® Wand
The only tool you’ll need for application is the Fuse Control Wand. Say goodbye to tweezers once and for all.
The Fuse Control Wand is ergonomically designed to hold the curve of your lid and feel comfortable in your hands for an effortless application. For smaller hands and faces, try the Petit Curve Wand.
One Set of Wandoms®
Lashify Bonds are unique in that they work more like a nourishing lash serum. They also never fully cure, so your natural lashes never become brittle and break. Due to their non-curing nature, they become tacky during application.
To avoid any sticky situations, use Wandoms to cover the tips of your Fuse Control Wand and prevent your Gossamer lashes from sticking to your Wand during application.
Whisper Light Bond™
One of our most popular Bonds is available in clear and black. It never leaves a sticky residue and helps keep your Gossamer lashes firmly in place.
Glass Finishing Coat
The perfect compliment to E2 Gossamer lashes, Glass Finishing Coat helps seal your Bonds and ensure you get the longest amount of wear from your Gossamer lashes. Combined with the GripTex power of E2 Gossamers, you’ll feel like you’re wearing salon extensions.
Samples
Included in each Control Kit are two samples: Pre Cleanse and Melt Away. Pre Cleanse is our Japanese Cleansing Water that helps you cleanse your lashes and prep them for Gossamer application. It’s so gentle and pure that you can also use it as a facial cleanser.
You’ll also get a sample of Melt Away, our dual-phase, oil-based makeup remover that helps you easily slide your Gossamer lashes off of your natural lashes, keeping both of them safe. While you don’t have to use Melt Away to remove your Gossamer lashes, remember that other oil-based makeup removers will likely require more time for removal.
Everything you need comes in one easy, convenient, and hard case to keep your tools and Gossamer lashes safe and ensure you always know where your lash tools are located.
