BONDING

My Gossamer® lashes are not sticking.

• Ensure that your lashes are clean and dry. Use Pre-Cleanse, our lash prep, to ensure that your lashes are free of oil, makeup, skin care products, mascara, micellar water, and anything that could interfere with your bond.

• When you apply Whisper Light Bond™️, use thin light coats, and wait about 30-60 seconds for each layer to become tacky before adding more bond or starting your lash application.

• When applying your Gossamer® lashes, position the spines (base) of the lashes 1-2mm up, away, from your water line. Placing the Gossamer® lashes too close to or on the waterline will be uncomfortable and will not provide an adequate hold.

• You should feel the Gossamer® lashes gripping onto your natural lashes when placing them.

This video can help to illustrate all of these tips: Are Your Gossamer® Lashes Not Sticking?

Here is a great video on: How to Know if Your Bond is Tacky

When you're ready to try again, try out the Frosting Method . Our clients are loving this application method for added longevity and a strong hold.

If you started out with Bondage®, our level 2 bond, note that you will apply a little less product at a time than with Whisper Light Bond™️. It gets tacky faster (within 15-30 seconds), has a thinner, more liquid consistency, and provides a stronger grip. For this reason, we do recommend it for more advanced users who are already comfortable with proper placement and working with Whisper Light Bond™️ (included in the Control Kit), which is more forgiving for new users.

My Gossamer® lashes feel too sticky/look clumpy.

• When you feel that your lashes are a little sticky or if they are clumping up, try using less bond and/or you just need to wait a little longer for your bond to get tacky before you add another light layer or before beginning your lash application.

• If you have medium to long natural lashes, trying applying your bond no more than halfway up your lashes instead of brushing it all the way through the tips.

• If you are sealing your lashes, wait 20-30 min to allow your bond to dry, then apply just a light layer of Glass Sealer.

Here is a great video that provides some amazing tips for proper bonding: All About Our Bonds

Frosting Method
. Our clients are loving this application method for added longevity and a strong hold. This method helps to ensure that you are applying and working with the bond correctly.

What is the Frosting Method?

The Frosting Method is a great bonding technique for beginners or for when you're ready for long wear. It only takes 3 easy steps that involve coating every lash with bond.

1. Brush a thin coat of Black Whisper Light Bond™ through the natural lashes. Be sure to coat every lash and allow it to get tacky. (If you didn't coat every lash feel free to add more bond)

2. Apply Clear Whisper Light Bond™ 1-2mm away from your waterline and take a flat-ended brush to gently brush upward through the natural lash. (Again, be sure to coat every lash - if you didn't then repeat this step)

3. Apply the Gossamer® Lashes and Fuse using the Wandoms®

That's it! Check out this video on how to do the Frosting Method.

What bonding technique should I use?

Daily Wear

If you are new, we recommend you wear your lashes for a day. You can do this by applying a thin coat of black Whisper Light® Bond through the lashes from root to tip. Once you've coated all the lashes, allow 30-60 seconds for the bond to get tacky. You can then apply your Gossamer® Lashes. At the end of the day, gently peel them off! Check out this video to see how our Pros wear them for a day.

Frosting Method with Bondage®

For those that need a little bit of a stronger hold, you can use Bondage in place of Black Whisper Light in the first step of the Frosting Method.

Bondage® contains Charcoflex®. This means it can absorb a little bit more moisture and oils than Whisper Light does. This allows for a stronger hold. Bondage is great from someone who lives in a warm, humid client, has an oily lid, or watery/runny eyes! It can be used alone or can be paired with Whisper Light!"

Placement

My Gossamer® lashes do not feel comfortable.

Check to make sure you're leaving enough space at the roots of your lashes (1-2mm) for a longer, more comfortable wear: Proper Placement and Improper Placement

Once you have your lashes on, you'll want to fuse them down to secure them in place. Here is a great video tutorial on Fusing.

The inner and outer corners can sometimes be a little tricky. The best way to get a comfortable wear on the corners is to bring in your placement and leave out a few of your natural lashes. Here are some helpful tutorials: How to Apply an Inner Corner Lash and How to Avoid Droop (also good for outer corner longevity).

My Gossamer® lashes are not aligned properly.

Not to worry! Perfect placement will come with practice. Here are are few tips to try:

• Try positioning your mirror so that you are looking down into it during your application: Mirror Placement

• You can set your elbow down onto your table or work surface to steady your hand.

• Work slowly to position your Gossamer® lashes 1-2mm away from your water line: Proper Placement

• Don't worry if they are not perfectly aligned! You'll get better with practice, and no one else will see what you're seeing!

I’m having trouble with inner/outer corner longevity.

• The inner and outer corners can sometimes be a little tricky. The best way to get a comfortable wear on the corners is to bring in your placement and leave out a few of your natural lashes.

• The natural lashes on the inner and outer corners are generally weaker and more sparse for most people.

• Here are some helpful tutorials: How to Apply an Inner Corner Lash and How to Avoid Droop (this technique is great for outer corner longevity).

• For the outer corners, try sizing down in length if you find that they easily get bumped while you are wearing them.

Fusing

I’m having trouble fusing.

If you feel that you are having trouble using your Fuse Control® Wand, check out these helpful tips for getting good hand placement and angles for achieving a good fuse:

Start Video: Fusing

Which Fuse Control™️ Wand is better for me - Classic or Petit?

Both wands are the same length and width. The Petit Fuse Control™ Wand has all the features we love of the Classic wand, but with a 10% reduced providing an easier fuse for smaller eyes and monolids. The straighter curve offers ease of use for inner corner and the ability to get a full fuse for a flatter eye profile.

The Classic Curve Fuse Control™ Wand has a more rounded tip that is best for medium to larger eyes, and for those with deep-set eyes.

Touch-ups & Aftercare

How do I remove makeup and wash my face?

Washing your face with Lashify is easy. We recommend avoiding splashing water directly onto the lashes. Remove your eye and face makeup with an oil-free makeup remover, our Pre-Cleanse, or Black Magic Cleansing Puff. Wash your face as you normally would and rather than splashing water on your face, try using the cleansing puff or a washcloth to remove any face wash. You can then apply any serums, moisturizers, face oils, and eye creams. You'll just want to avoid touching your lashes with these products.

This video with our Pro Educator, Mikayla, walks you through makeup removal, step by step: How to Remove Makeup

How do I shower while wearing lashes?

Showering is easy! When you shower we recommend trying to avoid getting the lashes wet. Face away from the shower head and avoid letting the water from the shower head hit the lashes directly. Tilt your head back to allow water to roll backwards when you wash your hair. If they do get wet - no problem, you can just let them dry completely and do a quick touch-up if needed!"

How do I fix a lifting lash?

Reasons your lashes might be lifting:

•The #1 culprit of lifting lashes is that they are too close to the water line or directly on the water line. Make sure that there is a 1-2mm gap between your water line and the Spine™️ base of your Gossamer® lashes. You want to see the roots of your natural lashes.

•Under bonding: Adding an extra (light) layer of bond can help you get better adhesion and a more stable wear.

•Over bonding: Applying too much bond will make your lashes slide. Apply just a little bit at a time so that your lashes adhere well.

•Moving too fast: It's important to wait for your bond to get tacky before applying more bond or applying your Gossamer lashes.

Fixing a lifted lash is easy! You can try one of these methods:

•Fuse down and see if that recreates the original seal.

•Dab Whisper Light onto the area that is lifted, allow it to get tacky, and fuse down.

•Remove the lash completely, apply Whisper Light™️ bond, re-apply Gossamer® Lash, and Fuse.

How do I get better lash longevity?

When it comes to getting the wear time you want, you may achieve it early on in your Lashify journey, or it may take a little trial and error to find your perfect application method. This is completely normal.

As a new user, we recommend practicing your application and just wearing them for the day for at least for your first 3 applications before you try to sleep in them. This gives you the opportunity to learn how to use the bonds, your Fuse Control Wand, and practice your Gossamer® lash placement. We find that by about your 3rd application, you start to get the hang of it!

Once you start wearing them overnight, if you find that they are not quite making it through a 24-hour wear, here are some tips for you to check out:

Top 10 Tips for Beginners Part 1
•Take your time.
•Prep your lashes with Pre-Cleanse, our lash prep. Wait until your lashes are completely dry, then begin your application.
•Practice using your Fuse Control® Wand.
•Apply thin coats of bond and allow each layer to get tacky, by waiting about 30-60 seconds before adding more bond or beginning your lash application.
•Look down into a mirror during your application.

Top 10 Tips for Beginners Part 2

•Place your Gossamer® lashes 1-2mm away from your water line for comfort, longevity, and to give your natural lashes space to move and breathe to keep them healthy and free from damage.
•Leave out a few inner and outer corner natural lashes.
•Fuse onto the spines of the Gossamer® lashes to secure them at their base.
•If you are sealing your lashes, wait 20-30 min to allow your bond to dry, then apply just a light layer of Glass Sealer.
•Wait 24 hours to shower.

Once you get the basics down, it'll just come down to making small tweaks in your bonding, placement, fusing, and aftercare to achieve your desired longevity.

Lash Mapping 101

How do I create a wing/cat eye look?

Creating a wing or cat eye lash look is simple! You can use just about any Gossamer® lash style or combination of styles based on your personal preference. You can achieve this by applying lashes in graduating lengths, from short to long, from inner to outer corner.

How to Elongate the Eye

How do I create an open eye look?

An "open eye" look means that you applied the Gossamer lashes in a way that gives the appearance of opening and enlarging the eyes. This is very easy to achieve!

Place your longer lengths of Gossamer® lashes towards the center of your eye while applying the shorter lengths on the inner and outer corners of your eye.

What are the best lashes for hooded eyes?

If you have a hooded eye, great news! You can wear just about any lash style, and the lash styles you wear will just be based on your personal style preferences. With Lashify, Gossamer® lashes are applied to the underside of your natural lashes, so you won't have a heavy, uncomfortable band sitting on top of your lashes, and weighing down your eyes.

The only ones you would probably want to avoid are styles that have a strong curl, like our Extreme, Extra Extreme, Gemini, and Fluffy FX styles, however, you may be able to wear curlier styles in longer lengths!

.

What are the best lashes for a monolid?

Similar to hooded eyes, if you have a monolid, you can easily wear just about any Gossamer® lash style in our collection. You may just want to avoid styles that have a very strong curl like Fluffy FX, Extreme, and Extra Extreme, which may touch your lids at the tips.
Open eye lash maps are also very flattering for monolids. By placing longer lengths at the center of the eye and tapering to shorter lengths at the inner and outer corners creates a rounded, eye-opening shape.

Check out this video to learn more about Lash Mapping for a Monolid Eye.

What is stacking?

Stacking is our patented method of adding Gossamer® lashes to a base layer in order to create volume, length, and/or dimension. You can mix any Gossamer lash styles together to create your own custom lash looks!
