Tips for Long-Lasting Lashes: Mastering the Art of Lash GripLashify

If you love the look of salon lashes but are tired of spending your time and money at the salon, you’ve probably at least attempted at-home lashes. Let’s all take a moment to pay homage to those terrible, forlorn strip lashes that left us looking unnatural.

Maybe you even tried at-home lash extensions. If the tedious glue and tweezer situation wasn’t enough to send you, the fact that the extensions themselves began to detach (almost immediately) probably did the trick. While vigorously shoving the contents of the lash kit into the trash, you probably had your lash tech on speed dial.

Before you end up so close to your lash artist that they ask you to be a bridesmaid, we have a solution. The Lashify™ DIY Lash Extension™ System is the first and only at-home lash extensions system that is easy to use, looks like salon lashes, and has serious staying power.

Together, we’ll talk about what makes our system work, how to make at-home lashes grip your natural lashes super tightly, and how you can Be Your Own Lash Tech™ and never visit the salon again (except, of course, to show off your at-home lashes).

Grip That Grain

Okay, no one is actually gripping grain while they’re doing their lashes (and if you are, please put your lashes down and focus on the road), but you can absolutely learn how to make your lashes grip your natural lashes more tightly.

There are four factors that contribute to your at-home lashes’ ability to stay put: your own lashes, the type of lash enhancement, the adhesive, and your application technique.

How Do I Do My Own Lashes?

Blame it on your mama (or dad) ,but your super short, super straight lashes just don’t seem to hold mascara or extensions very well. It’s maddening. If you’ve been “blessed” with lashes that don’t play by the rules, there are a few things you can do to whip them into shape.

Prep Your Natural Lashes

Before you ever attempt any kind of lash enhancement, make sure you are prepping your natural lashes so they are completely clean and free from any makeup, dirt, or oil that could cause your enhancement to slide off or not attach.

We recommend Pre Cleanse, our Japanese Cleansing Water that also doubles as a facial wash. This gentle cleanser easily removes any residue from your lashes, leaving them clean and ready for lash application without stripping them of natural moisture.

Curl ‘Em

If your lashes are really short and/or straight, curling them may help extensions adhere better. Straight, short lashes can be difficult, especially for lash enhancements that have a stronger cur.

Standard lash curlers can pinch and crimp your natural lashes, and if your hand slips, you could quite literally take a few of them out of their follicles! Instead, try Lashicurl®, Lashify’s heated silicone curler. Using the Lashicurl tool, gently lift your lashes up without damaging them.

Remember that your natural lashes should never be victimized by your lash enhancements. One way to ensure your lash enhancements don’t damage your natural lashes is to use the right type of lash extension.

Your Lash Enhancement

We’ve all fallen victim to the cheap lash kits at the drugstore, and let’s be honest, you get what you get. Strip lashes notoriously don’t adhere properly and look really unnatural. Individual lash clusters can be tedious and time-consuming and fall onto your cheeks or into your eyes at a moment’s notice.

That’s why Lashify is different. Our Gossamer® lashes are a hybrid between strip lashes and lash clusters. Each Gossamer lash contains multiple vegan, cruelty-free lash fibers that are attached to a featherlight Spine base.

The Spines attach beneath your natural lashes, close to your waterline. This Underlash Technology™ helps give your lashes more staying power and keeps your application natural-looking and foolproof.

Lashify Gossamer lashes are lightweight and comfortable because they distribute the weight of the extension across several of your own natural lashes; they don’t sit on top of your natural lashes, weighing them down. The best part is they don’t require sticky, goopy glues that cause your natural lashes to harden and become brittle.

Your Adhesive

Lash glue is pretty toxic. Both salon lash glue and at-home lash glue contain the same ingredients as super glue: formaldehyde and cyanoacrylates. These ingredients cause lash glues to fully cure, causing your natural lashes to become stiff. This is why your natural lashes often break, taking the extension with them.

Your lashes are each on a natural growth cycle, and when that cycle is interrupted by breakage, you’ll go without a natural lash in that spot until a new lash pops through the hair follicle, which could take weeks.

Lashify doesn’t use glues. Instead, we use Bonds. Bonds work like lash serums, nourishing and supporting your natural lashes as they grow. They contain zero formaldehyde and no cyanoacrylates. Instead, they contain biotin and lavender to help your lashes stay healthy.

The best part is that they keep your Gossamer lashes held tightly to your natural lashes for up to 10 days with proper care. And thanks to our new Griptex Technology™, our Extreme2 Gossamer Lashes make it even easier for you to have long-lasting lash wear.

Application

Applying your Gossamer lashes is easy, but it does take a few times to perfect your technique. Don’t worry if you don’t get it right the very first time. We’ve got plenty of tutorials and videos to help you along the way.

To apply new E2 Gossamer lashes and get the most lasting grip possible, prep your lashes like you normally would and curl them to help the lashes adhere. Griptex is a patent-pending development that alters the way the Spine base adheres to your natural lashes.

Griptex Spines are flat and textured, so they interlock with your natural lashes for a comfortable fit and tight grip. To apply these lashes, you’ll want to scoop under your natural lash, slightly closer to your waterline than you’d normally go, and attach your Gossamer lash to your natural lashes.

Then, Fuse your lashes as you normally would, using either a Full Fuse or a Reverse Fuse, whichever you prefer.

If you haven’t tried the Lashify system yet, it’s time to get on board and experience long-lasting, comfortable, at-home lashes that professional beauty editors rate a “10/10.” All you need is to add the Lashify Control Kit to your basket.

Be a Little More Controlling

Who says control is a bad thing? Every Lashify Control Kit gives you access to the tools you need to get started with the Lashify system.

Each Control Kit comes preloaded with:

  • Two sets of Gossamer lashes. Choose from the Core Collection of Amplify, Bold, and Curl. These lashes are the pillars of the Lashify system, and they’ll become the foundation of your own lash wardrobe. You can also use them to create fully customized looks using Lash Maps.
  • Fuse Control® Wand. No more tweezers, no more fingertip application. The Fuse Control Wand keeps you in full control of the application and ensures you are ergonomically prepared to apply your Gossamer lashes. For smaller hands and faces, try the Petit Curve Wand.
  • One set of Wandoms®. Keeping your natural lashes safe is one of our top properties, and that’s why Lashify Bonds don’t harden. This causes them to feel tacky when you’re applying your Gossamer lashes. Using Wandoms helps ensure your Gossamers don’t stick to your Fuse Control WAnd.
  • Whisper Light Bond™. This Bond keeps everything in place without ever leaving a sticky residue or trace of evidence behind. Kind of like another Bond we know. Whisper Light is available in clear and black.
  • Glass Finishing Coat. To get the longest wear from your Gossamer lashes, we recommend a finishing coat. Glass helps seal your Bonds and ensures your lashes are locked in tight overnight and in different changes in climate.
  • Samples. You’ll get a sample of Pre Cleanse in your Control Kit and a sample of Melt Away. Melt Away helps you easily break the Bonds between your Gossamer lashes and your natural lashes so you can easily slide them off and save them for their next wear.

Everything you need comes in one easy, convenient, and hard case to keep your tools and Gossamer lashes safe and ensure you always know where your lash tools are located.

Get a Grip

At-home lashes that last? It’s possible. Lashify’s Gossamer lashes are designed to look like salon lashes, stay in place for days, and wear comfortably.

Our new Griptex Technology means you’ll get more lasting wear out of even the longest, curliest, and most voluminous Gossamers we offer. Go ahead, treat yourself to lashes that you’ll love.
