Lash Extension Styles for Busy Women
Your life? It never slows down. Whether you’re attempting to balance a career and family or juggling full-time parenting duties, trying to squeeze anything additional into your schedule is virtually impossible. Bottom line: you’re busy.
If your goals are to carve out a little more time for yourself or focus a little more on self-care, you might find yourself scrambling for ways to get the job done. Again, that schedule is locked tight. Thankfully, there are solutions, especially when it comes to eyelash enhancement.
We know what you’re thinking. There’s no way you have time to get lash extensions with your schedule, so a few coats of volumizing mascara will have to do. Relax.
When you decide to do your lashes with the Lashify® DIY Lash Extension™ System, you can get the salon-quality lashes you love without ever leaving your own home. All it takes is about ten minutes and a few applications before you’ve mastered the application technique.
Together, we’ll talk about extension styles that work for busy, active lives and how you can Be Your Own Lash Tech™ and never waste another minute of your day at the lash salon.
What Are the Options?
There are numerous options in terms of lash extensions, even if you decide to do them at home. For the sake of this article, let’s go ahead and take salon lashes off the table. Here’s why:
- They take a long time. You can expect to spend two to three hours at the salon for your initial application, depending on how many extensions you want, the experience of your lash tech, and the style of lashes you’d like.
- They take even more time to maintain. Once your lashes are in place, you’ll need to return to the salon every three to four weeks for fills. Lash extensions applied at a salon only last as long as your natural lashes, so when your natural lashes fall out, your lash extensions fall out with them.
Your mileage may vary depending on your own lash growth cycle, and you may need more or fewer fills, but you can plan on at least an hour in the salon chair per fill.
Couple these trips with travel time to and from the salon, and you can find it virtually impossible to squeeze lash maintenance into your already busy schedule. A better option? DIY lashes, but only if you know which ones are easy to apply and won’t leave you frustrated and spinning your wheels.
Let’s cover the options so we can determine which are easiest and quickest to apply.
Strip Lashes
These are the OG of at-home lashes. These are the ones you probably tried as a teenager and swore you’d never try again.
Although there have been some improvements to the structure and adhesives used for strip lashes, they remain just about as natural-looking and convenient as they always were, which wasn’t great.
Strip lashes are notorious for falling off, not fitting properly, and requiring gobs of sticky glue to adhere. Normally, they aren’t designed for overnight or extended use, so you’ll have to take them on and off repeatedly to wear them, which won’t necessarily fit into a busy lifestyle.
Individual Lash Extensions
Lash extensions that are made to be applied, like salon lash extensions, are available for at-home use, but they don’t include the skill required to apply them. Individual lash extensions and clusters are small single fibers or clusters designed to be applied to your individual lashes.
Applying these is tedious and time-consuming. If you make a mistake, you’ll have to remove the individual extension (without removing nearby extensions) and reapply it.
This gets even more complicated when you add in the glue used to adhere the lashes. This type of glue (like salon lash glue) hardens, which can make your natural lashes brittle and cause them to break.
Magnetic Lash Extensions
You’ve probably seen magnetic lash extensions advertised as you scroll through your social media feed. They seem like a great solution for lash enhancement, especially if you don’t like the thought of using eyelash glue.
Magnetic extensions work by adhering a strip of lashes with tiny magnets attached to the lash band to an iron-oxide eyeliner that you apply to your lash line. This means you’ll need to be able to apply liquid liner quickly and efficiently, which can be tedious if you aren’t great with eyeliner to begin with. In addition, magnetic eyelash extensions aren’t made to be worn overnight, which may take them off the table if you’re looking for a quick solution.
Lashify DIY Lash Extensions
Enter Lashify, the creators of the DIY Lash Extension System that doesn’t involve glue, eyeliner, or strips. Lashify is different from other types of lash extension systems.
The Lashify Difference
At Lashify, we built our system differently so you could get the lashes you want without spending all your time and money at the salon.
Our Bonds
We don’t use glue. The glue used at salons and with most at-home extensions typically contains cyanoacrylates and formaldehyde. These chemicals can be harsh on your lashes, eyes, and the thin, delicate skin of your eyelids.
Instead, the Lashify system relies on Bonds. Our Bonds are formulated more like lash serums, with biotin and lavender. Bonds help support the health and growth of your natural lashes so they stay safe.
Our Application Technique
Our application method is unlike any other. Applying Gossamer lashes is easy, and after you apply them a few times, you’ll be able to get the job done in about 10 minutes.
For beginners or for your first time, we recommend blocking off half an hour to watch our tutorials, become familiar with your tools, and get your Gossamer lashes placed properly.
Gossamer lashes are applied using Underlash Technology™. This means they are applied beneath your natural lashes, helping keep them comfortable and making it easy to cover up application issues if needed.
Our Gossamer Lashes
Our lashes are built differently. Gossamer lashes are like a cross between strip lashes and cluster lashes. Each Gossamer lash contains multiple lash fibers attached to a featherlight Spine base that is just a few millimeters long.
This allows you to get the same great volume as you would from salon lashes but without having to attach a cluster of lashes to one single natural lash fiber. The weight is distributed more evenly, which helps protect your natural lashes and makes application easy.
Our Gossamer lashes are 100% cruelty-free and made from Korean PBT silk. They’re also made to be worn for up to 10 days with proper care (even overnight). You can remove and reuse your Gossamer lashes numerous times before they need replacing.
You can have great lashes even though you’re busy. All you need is to grab the DIY Lash Extension starter kit that gives you everything you need to get going.
Get More Control
Who doesn’t want a little more control? With the Lashify Control Kit, you’ll get everything you need to get salon-quality lashes fast. Each Control Kit includes the essentials.
Two Sets of Gossamer Lashes
We’ve got dozens of lashes to choose from, and your first two sets come included in your Control Kit. Select from our Core Collection of Gossamers, which includes the Amplify, Curl, and Bold collections.
Each collection is designed to enhance your natural lashes in a way that is natural and effortless. You can wear each set by themselves or stack them together using Lash Maps, customized creations that help you achieve different looks.
These Gossamer lashes build the foundation of your lash wardrobe, but they definitely won’t be the last Gossamer lashes you purchase. We strongly recommend additional storage so your Gossamer lashes are always in their place and protected.
The Only Application Tool You’ll Ever Need
The Fuse Control® Wand is our ergonomically amazing application tool that will allow your tweezers to collect dust effectively. This wand was designed to feel comfortable in your hand and rest easily on the curve of your eyelid and cheek so you can get your Gossamers placed perfectly without any fuss.
If you have smaller hands or eyes, try the Petit Curve Wand, which is designed exactly like the Fuse Control Wand but smaller. For travel, The Birdie® is your go-to solution.
One Set of Wandoms®
Play it safe with Wandoms. Lashify Bonds never fully cure, which means they won’t make your natural lashes feel brittle and hard. Bonds get tacky during Gossamer application, which helps your Gossamers adhere to your lashes.
Wandoms cover the ends of your Fuse Control Wand to ensure you don’t get into a sticky situation. With Wandoms, there’s no chance your Gossamers will stick to your Wand and not your own lashes.
Whisper Light Bond™
We offer several different Bonds, but Whisper Light is our most popular. This dual-sided bond comes in black and clear, so you can use it for initial application and touch-ups. It never fully cures and never leaves your lashes brittle or damaged.
Whisper Light is flexible, which means it allows your Gossamer lashes to bend and move along with your natural eyelashes to further protect against damage.
Glass Finishing Coat
You don’t have to seal your Gossamer lashes, but if you plan to wear them for as long as possible, a finishing coat can help boost the strength of your Bonds and protect your Gossamer lashes while you wear them.
You can apply Glass after you’ve applied your Gossamer lashes or in between applications to help increase longevity.
Samples
Each Control Kit comes with two samples of products we love: Pre Cleanse and Melt Away. Pre Cleanse is our Japanese Cleansing Water that helps remove dirt and oil from your lashes and lids. It’s powerful yet gentle enough to be used as an all-over facial cleanser.
Melt Away is our dual-phase, oil-based makeup remover that helps you easily slide your Gossamer lashes off of your natural lashes without damaging them.
Everything comes wrapped up in a protective hard case with a mirror to help you apply your lashes like a pro.
Lashify: Lashes in a Flash
You don’t have a lot of time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have great lashes. Go ahead and try the system that beauty editors call a 10/10. Lashify gives you the lash looks that last in a seriously short period of time.
