Do eyelashes grow back?  Do they?

AH! You wake up one morning and rub your eyes a little too hard, and one or two of your precious eyelashes come out. Or you went a little crazy on the lash extension game and had a little lash damage. we get it!  It’s tragic, we know. We've all been there. Now you're worried and wondering "Do eyelashes grow back?"  Don’t worry, we’re here to tell you that eyelashes do grow back—albeit slowly.    Here’s everything you need to know about growing your eyelashes back. You'll need a few lashes to use Lashify so it's important that your lashes grow! Let's discuss how to get your eyelashes to grow back.

The Growth Cycle of Your Eyelashes

First things first, let’s talk about the growth cycle of your eyelashes. Eyelashes have a growth cycle just like the hair on your head, and it consists of three phases: the anagen phase, the catagen phase, and the telogen phase.

The anagen phase is the growth phase, during which your lashes grow about 1mm per day for up to six weeks. This is followed by the catagen phase, which is a transitional phase that lasts for two to three weeks. Finally, the telogen phase is the resting phase, during which your lashes fall out naturally (which is why you sometimes find one or two in your sink when you wash your face). This stage lasts for four to six weeks before restarting the cycle again.

Unfortunately, if you lose an eyelash outside of the natural lash shedding process (i.e., if you rub your eyes too hard or use waterproof mascara that’s difficult to remove), it will not grow back until it completes its natural shedding cycle—so you could be waiting up to 12 weeks!

How to Help Your Lashes Grow Back Faster

If you’re looking for ways to help your lashes grow back faster so you can avoid that awkward bald spot, there are a few things you can do:

1. Use a lash serum: Lash serums are formulated with ingredients that help promote lash growth, such as biotin, keratin, and peptides. Just apply the serum along your lash line once or twice a day and give it some time to work its magic!

2. Don’t pull out your lashes: We know it’s tempting to just yank out that pesky lash that won’t stay put, but resist the urge! Pulling out your lashes can damage the hair follicle and make it more difficult for them to grow back.

3. Make sure you remove your makeup properly: Sleeping in makeup can lead to all kinds of skin problems—including preventing your lashes from growing back as quickly as they should. So make sure you take the time to properly remove your makeup every night before bed!

4. Use our Plus Collection.  These are the lightest lashes we make and will be super gentle on those little lashes while they are growing back!

Losing an eyelash is always a tragedy—but don’t worry, they do grow back eventually! Just be patient and give them some time (up to 12 weeks) and follow our advice on how to help them grow back faster. Trust us, it will be worth the wait!
